I'm spotlighting some of the smaller films opening up this month in cinemas, for you today starting with FIELD OF LOST SHOES, a historical drama based on a true story of the American Civil War, culminating at the Battle of New Market in May 1864, when a group of teenage cadets, sheltered from war at the Virginia Military Institute, had to confront the horrors of an adult world after being called upon to defend the Shenandoah Valley.
