Although most of the regular shows take their winter break during New Year's holidays, some actually start their life as December approaches and this weekend we shall spotlight some of the new series that are coming to the small screens next month, starting today with MARCO POLO lavish historical adventure series which will bring its ten episodes all at once to Netflix on December 12th! Today you can check out gorgeous new posters presenting all of the supporting characters in the show lead by Italian actor Lorenzo Richelmy as the famed 13th century explorer! The project was originally meant to air at Starz, but when they failed to secure shooting in China, the production was moved to Malaysia and Kazakhstan and later on sold to Netflix!

In the Harvey Weinstein produced ten episode series produced with the lavish budget of about $90 million, Asian star Zhu Zhu plays Marco’s love interest Kokachin, Joan Chen is Empress Chabi and Benedict Wong is Kublai Khan. Tom Wu stars as Hundred Eyes, while Remy Hii is Prince Jingim! The story of the epic show focuses on the early days of the famed explorer who sets out on The Silk Road, a journey that takes him to the centre of a brutal war in 13th century China - a world replete with astonishing martial arts, sexual intrigue, political skulduggery and spectacular battles. Intrigue. Deception. Bloodshed. These are just some of the obstacles awaiting legendary explorer MARCO POLO as he navigates the inner court of 13th   century ruler, Kublai Khan.
