Pakistan peoples party member Sharmila Farooqi got engaged with Hasham Riaz Sheikh. The engagement ceremony was held on Sunday, 24th February, 2013 at her own residence located near PTV Station in Karachi near to Liaquat National Hospital and Medical College. PPP leaders, family, relatives and friends all attended this beautiful function. Famous and renowned classical singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan was also called in the event to give his superb performance and make the ceremony more exciting.
Sharmila’s fiance Hasham Riaz Sheikh is a son of former Director General Federal Investigation Authority (FIA) Ahmed Riaz Sheikh, a very close friend of President Asif Ali Zardari. Meanwhile, Hasham Riaz is also the owner of upcoming TV channel Capital TV.

Some reports quoted that Sharmila and Hasham engagement will held on 3rd March, however engagement was held on 24th February when electricity also disappeared in almost 80% areas of Karachi. :D
