Bugra Gulsoy

Buğra Gülsoy (born February 22, 1982) is a Turkish actor, architect, director, graphic designer and photographer.

Early life


Buğra Gülsoy was born into a muslim Turkish family in Ankara, Turkey.
He completed his primary, secondary and high school education in Ankara. He gained his first stage experience, when he was 13. He graduated from the Eastern Mediterranean University, Faculty of Architecture.


In 2004 Gülsoy graduated in Architecture from the Dogu Akdeniz University in North Cypress. During his time as an architecture student, he also pursued acting, appearing in various plays at the state theater in North Cypress. He is also a photographer, graphic designer and a short film director as well as head of the Short Film Festival in North Cypress.

In 2008, Gülsoy began a role in the series Hepimiz Birimiz İçin as Nazım. In 2009, he appeared in the film Güneşi Gördüm. In 2010, Gülsoy played the role of Vural Namlı in the famous series Fatmagül'ün Suçu Ne? (Fatmagul-Akhir mera kasoor kiya). Gülsoy appeared in one more 2010 movie, Shadows and Faces. Then he appeared in the movie Güzel Günler Göreceğiz as Cumali. Since 2011, he has portrayed Güney Tekinoğlu in the Kanal D drama series Kuzey Güney.



Personal

Gülsoy had dated Miss Turkey 2007 Selen Soyder  but they'd broken up.



 Then he dated actress Burcu Kara  and they got married on 22 July 2011 and they divorced in 2012.


 


 Now he is dating Nilüfer Gürbüz.

Gülsoy has been intrested in photography for ten years and he is sharing the photos he took via his instagram account with his followers. Gülsoy says he loves the instagram application: “Instagram is an international official sharing application. It is possible to reach what people on Earth see at the moment. In a way, you follow life visually. I feel as if I am watching a documentary with Instagram.

Insıght magazine begin the publicity of the actors of “Fatmagül’ün Suçu Ne” TV series which will be on in the following months with Buğra Gülsoy’s very special interview with Nouran Osama.   • Award for Best Actor

In 19th Darüşşafaka Culture and Art Festival DAÇKAFEST held by Darüşşafaka students, awards met their winners in accordance with the results of “Best of TV World” survey. Buğra Gülsoy was awarded as the best male actor in Drama Series category with his performance in “Kuzey Güney” TV series. Gülsoy said; “It is an honor to be awarded in such a meaningful organization. Being awarded by the adults of the future makes me hold on to the future more strongly”.

  • The new commercial won recognition

“Filli Boya” commercial which Gülsoy took part in still wins recognition in both press and social media. Gülsoy took part in the commercial with great musician Fahir Atakoğlu and got thumbs up with his warm and sincere presence. Gülsoy stated that he was very excited during the shooting as it was the first time he sang in front of a camera.

One of the high quality TV series of the season Kuzey Güney, which Gülsoy co-starred with Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ, is continued without slowing down.   • PRAGMA closed the season with sold-out performances

The first Project of the new cinema and theatre formation GET, which Gülsoy founded with Emre Erkan and Serhat Teoman, “PRAGMA” was accepted as one of the most gripping plays of the season and closed the season with sold-out performances. The play was written and directed by Buğra Gülsoy; it reflects crime and crime psychology through five serial killers trapped in the same cell. Pragma will meet its audience again in October 2012.

  • Bought the copy rights of the novel

Buğra Gülsoy is adapting Ayhan Bozkurt’s “Barikattaki Çocuk” novel to film. The novel tells about 1980 incidents from a child’s viewpoint. Gülsoy bought the copy rights of the novel and he will combine his own story with the story of the novel. Gülsoy begin working on the scenario and he’s planning to complete the film which will also be directed by him until 2015.

  • Güzel Günler Göreceğiz” won the best film award in Altın Portakal

Written by Emre Kavuk and directed by Hasan Tolga Pulat, “Güzel Günler Göreceğiz” won the best film award in Altın Portakal Film Festival. Buğra Gülsoy played the “Cumali” character that killed his sister out of honour, was prisoned and went to his sister’s grave to apologize from her. Gülsoy won recognition of the critics with this character. “Güzel Günler Göreceğiz”, telling the story of five characters crossing each other’s path and changing each other’s lives, is now visiting the world festival.

  • Gölgeler ve Suretler is in the United States

Telling the story of 1964 Cyprus incidents, “Gölgeler ve Suretler” directed by Dervis Zaim, made its United States premiere in Boston Film Festival. Playing the character of “Ahmet” from Cyprus could not attend the United States premiere due to his busy schedule. Buğra Gülsoy states that it was a real honour to work with a great director like Derviş Zaim and he is really sorry that he’s not able to attend any of the film festivals because of his TV series shootings in Istanbul.

  • Planning to make the last film of the trilogy


Buğra Gülsoy’s experimental short film “Human Trilogy” telling the story of the birth of human race and socializing, was shot in 2006 and received many awards in festivals. One year later, Buğra Gülsoy made the second “Upsidedown” and focused on family and system conflict. He gave a long break for the third film that will take “belief” as its theme. Gülsoy is now working on the third film of the experimental trilogy that is made by combining photo frames.
