Two pieces of television news for you today, people, starting with SyFy's new science fiction mini series ASCENSION which will air in six episodes sometime later this November. Created by SMALVILLE's Philip Levens the show already has two stars - Brian Van Holt from COUGAR TOWN and Tricia Helfer from BATTLESTAR GALACTICA. In 1963, the U.S. government launched a covert space mission sending hundreds of men, women and children on a century-long voyage aboard the starship ASCENSION to populate a new world. Nearly 50 years into the journey, as they approach the point of no return, a mysterious murder of a young woman causes the ship’s population to question the true nature of their mission.  

SPACE AIN'T GOOD FOR LOVE 
Tricia Helfer will play Viondra Denniger, a beautiful, manipulative and dangerous power broker on the ASCENSION. Brian Van Holt  will play William Denninger, captain of the ship and Viondra's husband. A natural leader, William quickly rose through the ranks after playing a heroic role in a fire early in the spacecraft's voyage. While his professional life is solid, William's marriage to Viondra is anything but.

Here's something exclusive for you today: first pictures from the sets of Netflix new epic show MARCO POLO which is shooting in Venice, in Kazakhstan and over in Malaysia produced by the Weinstein Company. You can see the first images of Italian actor Lorenzo Richelmy as the famed explorer whose journey takes him to the centre of a brutal war in 13th century China, a world replete with exotic  martial arts, political skulduggery, spectacular battles and sexual intrigue. Benedict Wong (PROMETHEUS), Zhu Zhu (CLOUD ATLAS), Tom Wu (SKYFALL), Remy Hii (TREADING WATER) and Rick Yune (OLYMPUS HAS FALLEN, THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS) are also in the cast of the ten episode series which will be released at Netflix at the end of the year!
