FIELD OF LOST SHOES
TOUCHING CIVIL WAR DRAMA
I'm spotlighting some of the smaller films opening up this month in cinemas, for you today starting with FIELD OF LOST SHOES, a historical drama  based on a true story of the American Civil War, culminating at the Battle of New Market in May 1864, when a group of teenage cadets, sheltered from war at the Virginia Military Institute, had to confront the horrors of an adult world after being called upon to defend the Shenandoah Valley. Leaving behind their youth, these cadets must decide what they are fighting for. Jason Isaacs, Tom Skerritt, Lauren Holly and David Arquette star!


MY OLD LADY
MAGGIE SMITH & KEVIN KLINE
Opening tomorrow in theatres is charming comedy MY OLD LADY in which Kevin Kline plays an American man who unexpectedly inherits an apartment in Paris that comes with an unexpected resident in the form of Maggie Smith. Her daughter is played by Kristin Scott Thomas! Click for the trailer.

'RECLAIM' THRILLER
RYAN PHILLIPPE, JOHN CUSACK
If you want something more dynamic, action thriller RECLAIM is out September 19th following a desperate American couple which discovers all is not what it seems when they uncover a high-stakes underground scam while travelling abroad. To expose the truth and get back to the U.S., they must risk their lives to save their daughter. Ryan Phillipe and John Cusack star! Click for the trailer.

'PRIDE' COMEDY
BILL NIGHY & IMELDA STAUNTON
Also opening on the 19th is deeply delightful British comedy PRIDE starring Bill Nighy, Imelda Staunton, Dominic West and Paddy Considine in a story about U.K. gay activists who work to help miners during their lengthy strike of the National Union of Mineworkers in the summer of 1984. Trailer!

THE TWO FACES OF JANUARY
VIGGO MORTENSEN, KIRSTEN DUNST AND OSCAR ISAAC
The 26th of September will show us THE TWO FACES OF JANUARY in which Viggo Mortensen, Kirsten Dunst and Oscar Isaac play a conartist, his wife, and a stranger who flee Athens after one of them is caught up in the death of a private detective. Trailer.

'THE SONG' MUSICAL
EVEN THE WISEST OF MEN WAS A FOOL FOR LOVE
Last weekend of September also brings THE SONG a moving musical romance about an aspiring singer-songwriter whose life and marriage suffer when the song he writes for his wife propels him to stardom. Alan Powell and Ali Faulkner star.
