Now here's a starstudded cast: beloved British classic sitcom DAD'S ARMY is getting its big screen movie version helmed by Oliver Parker and the cast will include Bill Nighy, Catherine Zeta Jones as glamorous journalist Rose, Toby Jones as Captain Mainwaring, Blake Harrison as Pike, with Michael Gambon as Godfrey, Danny Mays as Walker, Tom Courtenay as Corporal Jones and Bill Paterson as Fraser.The comedy was set in WW2 in a seaside town following the Home Guard consisted of local volunteers otherwise ineligible for military service, who patrol the Dover army base using it as a chance to revive their spirits and reputation – until glamorous journalist Rose Winters arrives to write about their exploits, setting the pulses racing and putting the local women on red alert.!

Baltasar Kormakur (CONTRABAND), who is currently directing mountain climbing drama EVEREST, will also helm Universal Pictures' VIKINGR epic movie saga based on the classic tales deriving from the legendary Icelandic Sagas, which document larger than life heroes, adventures and battles of early Nordic settlers, as well as daily life in the Viking age.
SCARLETT JOHANSSON IN 'THE CUSTOM OF THE COUNTRY' MINI SERIES
Meanwhile, Scarlett Johansson is also moving to the small screen since she's just taken the lead role in historical mini series THE CUSTOM OF THE COUNTRY which Sony Pictures TV will adapt from Edith Wharton's novel.  The 1913 novel tells the story of Undine Spragg, an ambitious but socially naive Midwestern girl who attempts to climb New York's social ladder with mixed results.

You trailer treat for today (and I hope ITV doesn't take it down from YouTube before you see it, if they do, stay tuned and I'll post the trailer here when it appears again or see it here) is the first truly gorgeous one for ITV's new historical series POLDARK and the ladies will love it since lead star Aidan Turner is naked in it a lot!  The eight part series is set in 18th century Cornwall following the story of the rebellious Ross POLDARK as he returns from the American War of Independence to Cornwall, only to find that his old world is ruined: his father is dead, the family mine long since closed, his house wrecked and his sweetheart pledged to marry his cousin. But Ross finds that hope and love can be found when you are least expecting it in the wild but beautiful Cornish landscape. Scheduled to air next year, the series will also star Eleanor Tomlinson from WHITE QUEEN and JACK THE GIANT SLAYER.
