DJ RUBY Rose has been forced to defend herself after tweeting about a supposed lesbian tryst with singer Demi Lovato.
Rose, 27, tweeted on Sunday that she was taking a break from social media after she was allegedly attacked "for being a 'scorned ex-lover' of Lovato's.
"Think ill take a few days off social media whilst @ddlovato's friends attack me for being a 'scorned ex-lover' get over it!! I liked the hair," she tweeted.
Rose then continued her online commentary on Instagram.
"Im like the one person demi has slept with that didnt seel on naked photos of her so eff off," she wrote.
Rose wasn't quite ready though for her self-imposed social media sabbatical, again logging into Twitter to defend herself.
“What just happened to me on [Instagram] wasn’t very nice and I retaliated because I stood up for myself. It’s all sorted now Back to business …” she tweeted.
Rose deleted those tweets and then left three more.
“Listen, im in no way shocked or offended by the shade im getting from people who have simply cropped my reply to what actually started this,” Rose wrote. “However I in no way initiated this, nor did I say something that wasnt already written in the ridiculous post. One sided replies dont cut it.
"However, love and peace to everyone. It is what is it. Remember it doesn’t really matter what people think. Its what you know that counts," she wrote.
In none of the tweets does Rose retract the suggestion that she and the US X Factor judge slept together.
The affair may go back to October 2011 when Rose, ever the prolific tweeter, posted "On a plus side I met Demi Lovato today at lunch and she is just magnificent."
Lovato is currently appearing in episodes of Glee in the US where she plays the lesbian love interest of Santana (Naya Rivera).
