SHEKHAR KAPUR TO HELM
'TIGER'S CURSE' ADVENTURE
One of my own favourite directors, Shekhar Kapur (who gave us such masterpieces as ELIZABETH, ELIZABETH THE GOLDEN AGE, FOUR FEATHERS) will helm the big screen adaptation of Colleen Houck's novel TIGER'S CURSE which follows Kelsey Hayes who learns that she has a powerful connection with a beautiful white tiger named Ren, while working at a circus in Oregon over the summer. When a mysterious stranger arrives to reclaim Ren and return him to his native India, Kelsey is whisked into an exotic adventure across the far reaches of the globe where she learns the powerful beast's true identity - a prince who is the victim of a 300-year-old curse. With the ability to periodically return to human form, Ren and Kelsey begin a journey through treacherous jungles, sacred temples and go face-to-face with dark forces as they piece together an ancient prophecy which holds the promise of breaking the curse.
'PHANTOM OF THE OPERA'
ANOTHER TV SHOW ADAPTATION
Only last week I announced that PHANTOM OF THE OPERA will be turned into a modern day TV series over at ABC, and now another series inspired by the same book from Gaston Leroux! To be produced by Endemol, written by Tony Krantz (DRACULA, 24) and directed by brilliant Jean Pierre Jeunet (AMELIE), this new drama, brimming with tortured love affairs, sex, murder and mystery among the international jet set at the dawn of the Jazz Age, will be set in 1919 against a backdrop of the Paris Peace Conference. The story centres on a British World War I fighter pilot with burns covering half of his body. He finds himself at the centre of a string of murders that threatens to embroil the city’s gathered world leaders. The “Opera” in this re-imagining is an opera house that is home to the hottest nightclub in Paris whose headliner finds herself in the cross hairs of the serial killer.

First trailer has been released for DESPICABLE ME movies spinoff MINIONS which comes out next July! Starting as single-celled yellow organisms, Minions evolve through the ages, perpetually serving the most despicable of masters. Continuously unsuccessful at keeping these masters, from T. rex to Napoleon, the Minions find themselves without someone to serve and fall into a deep depression. But one Minion named Kevin has a plan, and he, alongside teenage rebel Stuart and lovable little Bob, ventures out into the world to find a new evil boss for his brethren to follow. The trio embarks upon a thrilling journey that ultimately leads them to their next potential master, Scarlet Overkill (Sandra Bullock), the world’s first-ever female super-villain. They travel from frigid Antarctica to 1960s New York City, ending in London, where they must face their biggest challenge to date: saving all of Minionkind from annihilation.
