After reading all the ways from forums, blogs and website to verify Paypal account here in the Philippines I came to the conclusion that the most cheapest and easiest way to verify Paypal is by using the RCBC MyWallet Visa Card. These cards can be :
- RCBC Mercury Drug MyWallet Visa Card (Suki Card - you can use to purchase and have discounts when buying medicines and other stuffs in a Mercury Drug store anywhere in the Philippines) or
- RCBC MyWallet Visa Card
- Balance Inquiry
- Intrabank Fund Transfer
- Interbank Fund Transfer
- Checkbook reorder
- Transaction Log
- Payment
- Mobile Banking
- Registration
- Change MPIN
RCBC's cards are all capable for verifying your Paypal account except for RCBC's card without the VISA on it. As an online businessmen/women, online marketer, or just an online blogger who is earning money online like me, inevitably you will really need to have a Paypal account, not just a normal Paypal account but a VERIFIED PAYPAL account. For online transactions such as buying a DOMAIN for your website (except for Namecheap which allows you to buy a domain using your unverified Paypal account), or just online shopping you will need to have a verified Paypal account to be able to compete your purchase, withdraw funds and send payments inside your Paypal account.
Now if you are planning to be the boss of yourself and resign your job, or just planning to have an additional income for your current job, you must have a Paypal account that is verified. I know you already knew this matters, but hopefully for others this would be a very big tip and inspiration.
Now to verify your paypal account you must first have the RCBC Mercury Drug MyWallet Card. Follow the steps below to GET one.
1. First of all check your Paypal account first. Check your personal details, your address, etc. Make sure they are all correct. If necessary write these important information on paper and bring it when you are going to the RCBC bank.
2. Bring also a photocopy of your valid ID. You can use student ID if you are still an student. Government IDs are also accepted. For mine, I got my POSTAL ID. You can also use the following IDs :
- Driver's Licence
- PRC ID
- NBI Clearance
- Police Clearance
- Postal ID
- Passport
- Voter's ID
- Barangay Certification
- GSIS e-card
- SSS card
- Senior Citizen Card
- OFW ID
- Seaman's Book
- HDMF ID
- NCWDP ID
- DSWD Certification
- Company ID issued by government owned companies
3. Now, go to the nearest RCBC bank branch near your place.
4. Say good morning to the guard and tell him you wanna fill up the form for applying a RCBC Mercury Drug Mywallet Visa Card or just the MyWallet Visa Card. Don't apply for the card without the Visa on it.
5. MAKE SURE YOU INPUT THE EXACT DETAILS YOU HAVE IN YOUR PAYPAL ACCOUNT, like your exact address, first name and surname. Since this is a bank account, details must be accurate because you will pay the price later when you committed some mistakes. When you are done go to the bank staff/personnel to assist your application, don't be shy or hesitated to ask if you don't understand some entries in the form. But ask professionally and politely, after all RCBC bank employees are very accommodating and friendly based on my experience when I am applying my card. And here is one thing, "WRITE LEGIBLY", make sure your writings are easy to understand, most specially your email address, because your email address will be use later by the RCBC Customer Support to send your 4-DIGIT Paypal Code to verify your paypal.
6. Now give the form to the bank employee, this would be very fast because your Mywallet Visa card will be given to you that for that day also after your details are all input by the personnel to their database. The PIN SLIP and the Card Protector will also be given together with the Mercury Drug paper which you will present to the Mercury Drug Store once you are going to verify your card to avail their service for your Card.
You are all done. Deposit about 150 pesos for your MyWallet Card. If you have sometime when you go out the RCBC bank, verify your Suki Card or Mercury Drug MyWallet Visa Card to the nearest Mercury drug store to avail the additional benifits of your card. Yes! your Mercury Drug MyWallet Visa Card is the combined name of the RCBC bank and the Mercury Drug Store. RCBC and Mercury Drug tied up to launch this new card for the benefits of Filipino people all over the world. Not only that you can get discounts when buying to the nearest Mercury Drug stores you can also use this card all over the world because of course your card has the "VISA" name on it. Visa is worldwide you knew that also.
Your MyWallet Visa Card will most likely to be active for about 2 to 3 hours. Now, you can check it here to know if it is already activated or not.
If your card is already active it will show the image below.
If the message below appeared, then your Mywallet Visa Card is not yet activated.
"Sorry, we cannot process your transaction. The account you selected does not exist. Please contact your bank."If you don't have internet connection, you can manually check your card using the ATM machine near you if its active already or not.
Now, if your account is not yet active, don't get too excited or anxious, just wait patiently. After all this is a very fast way to verify your Paypal account and have an ATM card compared to UnionBank EON Card, or Smart Money Card.
7. Once your account is active, go to your Paypal account and sign in. If your Paypal account type is "Personal" click upgrade first and change it to "Premier". Once you upgraded to premier, click the GET VERIFIED link.
8. Refer to the image below for the next step. For the first name, jot down your real exact Name, to be able to change your Last Name it will take a long process, so if you mistakenly input a wrong Last Name, I advice you to made a new Paypal Premier account. For the Card Type, select Visa, Card Number [ the 16-digit card number ] located in front of your card, Expiry Date [ valid thru, e.g., 04/16 - April 2016 ], Security Code [ 3-digit code located in the back of your your card ], if you need to edit the Billing Address do it now to avoid delays and waste of money inside of your Paypal account. When you are sure with your details click CONTINUE.
9. Now after that your Mercury Drug MyWallet Visa Card will be deducted by 100 pesos for requesting the 4-digit PIN needed to verify your account. But this 100 pesos will be refunded to your Paypal account after 24 hours. See the image below.
10. Paypal will email you the following 2 emails inside your email address :
- You've added a card to your PayPal account
- Confirm your debit or credit card
11. Now this is the time you will need to contact the CUSTOMER SUPPORT of RCBC. To request your Paypal 4-DIGIT PIN do the steps below.
a. In order to have your PIN you have to email them at customercontact@rcbc.com
b. For the subject put : Paypal Code Verification Request
c. For the greetings and body :
Hi,
Good day ma'am/sir! I wanna request for the 4-DIGIT Paypal code to verify my RCBC Mercury Drug MyWallet Visa Card. Please send it to me when they emailed the pin to your system.

12. If everything went OK, if you send your email in the morning expect to answered by a RCBC customer support personnel for the afternoon of that day. I don't know their timeline during weekends or holidays. But their customer support is available 24/7.

13. Assuming that the RCBC customer support emailed you your Paypal code the email should look like the image below.
14. Now once again go to your Paypal account and sign in. Click the "Get Verified" link and input the 4-DIGIT Paypal code and GET VERIFIED. After verifying, Paypal will email you an email with the subject : "Your credit/debit card or bank account is now confirmed".
15. Now after verifying your Paypal account, you are now going to link your RCBC Bank account to your Paypal account. Immediately go to Profile > Add/Edit Bank Account. See the image below.
16. Refer to the image below.

Now as I already told you since the beginning of this tutorial that your details in your RCBC during your application for your MyWallet Visa Card must be exact and the same as your Paypal account details. Review it first before continuing to avoid returning fee of 250 pesos and additional charge fee that RCBC might apply to your account.
18. When you are sure click the SAVE button and you are done. Paypal will email you an email with the subject : "Bank account added to your PayPal account". And inside your Paypal Bank Account you will now see the RCBC Bank Account.
19. You can now withdraw FUNDS or your money using your RCBC MyWallet Visa Card or using your RCBC bank account.
