Mustafa

Mustafa
was born in 1515. in Manisa by Mahidevran mother and father Suleyman while
Suleyman was still a prince. As the first son he should inherit the kingdom but
Suleyman had the role intended for Mehmed, son of Hürrem. He successfully ruled
Amasia for 12 years and defended the eastern border of the Empire. According to
stories, Hürrem in cooperation with the Rustem Pasha organized his murder. He
was accused of planning to take over the empire which initially Suleyman did
not believe. But when Rustem Pasha called Mustafa and his army to join the main
army at the same time saying to Suleyman that he is coming to kill him.
Suleyman ordered to assassinate him. His death triggered a revolt in Anatolia
because people believed that Hürrem manipulated Suleyman.
