Matrakçı
Nasuh. Educated in Istanbul and expert in many fields. He served as a
consultant to the sultan and was a teacher in the school in Endrun. He was born
in the Bosnian town of Visoko. He spoke five languages. In addition to his work
in mathematics and history he is well known for making miniatures. The most
famous of them is a miniature of Istanbul, which details the former city. He
was a soldier in his younger days and a skilled swordsman.
