Rustem Pasha was
born in Skradin, Croatia. As a child he was taken to Constantinople, where he
achieved a significant career in the military and politics. 1539th He married
Mihrimah Sultan, the daughter of Suleyman the Magnificent. He was the Grand
Vizier and gathered great wealth (a large
part through the bribe). However, a good portion of his wealth he spent on
charity, construction of public buildings and mosques. One mosque was named
after him in Fatih, Turkey. He had three children, one daughter and two sons.
He died on 10.07.1561.
