Given the amount of designer clobber floating around in Cannes at the moment, picking the right outfit for an event at the film festival must be a daunting prospect indeed for an actress.
However, Emma Watson got it just right in the sartorial stakes earlier when she dressed in a beautiful rouge Christopher Kane number for The Bling Ring photocall.
‘It wasn’t like I needed to go out there and try to find the furthest part from Hermione so I could get away from her,” said Emma. “That seems like a negative place to jump off from; trying to get away from something rather than trying to get towards something.
“What I’m trying to get towards is that I want to be a character actress,” she continued. “I want to play parts. I want to play roles that transform me. Nicki seemed like an opportunity to do that.”
The film, directed by Sofia Coppola, has already won critical acclaim from just about everybody including Emma’s role in it.
