Bridges are fantastic creation of human kind. Bridges connect divided lands and make them as one. Even in early times, without natural bridges, people will be unable to travel the world by foot. They are mainly used as roads for buses, trucks, motorcycles and railways for trains.
For the bridges as roads, these bridge roads are used by people and different types of vehicles. These vehicles commonly transport goods, products, foods, and many other important things that are needed in our everyday lives from one end of the bridge to the other end. Sometimes bridges are used as the boundary of two regions or countries. Isn't it?
For the bridges as railways, bridge railways are only used by trains. These can be a normal railway transit and can be a fast railway type transit. Trains are used for more affordable, fast and safest way to move from one place to another.
Sometimes a bridge has double purposes or double uses. I have watched on the National Geographic Channel that, they made a bridge and used its top part as road and the bottom part as railway for trains. Wow! brilliant idea.
Thanks to the brilliant minds of engineers and hardworking foreman and construction workers, that they are able to think, think and think to improved ways of making huge and long bridges. From just a simple wooden bridge, we have now concrete and steel bridges. For me tall buildings are not only the sign of progressive countries but also long bridges. Here in the Philippine, the San Juanico Bridge is the longest bridge in record. And I always wondered and vision that the only way to make Philippines a progressive country, is to connect its main and largest islands by bridges. I hope someday I brilliant president will notice this, that Philippines is not only divided by religions, tribes and tongues but also by lands.
