Jenni Rivera's family is hopeful.
The 43-year-old Mexican-American singer died Sunday in a plane crash, U.S. officials confirmed, but her brother Juan Rivera says the family is holding on to the chance that Jenni may still be alive.
"In our eyes, we still have faith that our sister will be OK," Juan, also a singer, told reporters Monday, per Reuters.
Everything we know so far about Jenni Rivera's death
"We thank God for the life that he has given...my sister," he added. "For all the triumphs and successes she has had, and we expect that there will be more in the future."
On Sunday, however, Jenni's other brother, Pedro Rivera, told E! News the loss of the Telemundo star was "a devastation to the family."
He said it was "around 5 p.m. [that] we got confirmation she was gone."
"Life is like that," he added. "We live and we die. We may be sad, but when God has the last word for all of us in our last days, it's time to go. And this was the way Jenni had to go."
